With the development of The Times and the advancement of technology, the education industry is more and more inclined to be more inclusive. I know UID, UDL, and UBD from this week’s lecture. They are very different from traditional education methods and are more inclusive. Today I mainly want to talk about some understanding and application of UID. Universal Instructional Design (UID) has seven principles:
- Be accessible and fair
- Be straightforward and consistent
- Provide flexibility in use, participation, and presentation
- Be explicitly presented and readily perceived
- Provide a supportive learning environment
- Minimize unnecessary physical effort of requirements
- Ensure a learning space that accommodates students and Instructional methods
These principles help teachers design barrier-free teaching activities, environments, and materials. And create learning experiences that respect and value diversity. These seven principles are at the heart of UID and a prerequisite for creating a more inclusive approach to teaching and learning.
This teaching model is quite new to me. After watching the video, I found that it can accommodate more types of students. At the same time, he is committed to the great goal of improving the learning environment for people with disabilities so that more students with disabilities can learn normally.
