Behaviorism
Behaviorism is a kind of learning theory, which loads knowledge into students’ memory banks through external stimuli. When students repeat a behavior many times, it is reinforced. From my personal experience, I experienced behaviorist learning theory when I was learning to drive a car. When I was driving on the road, the coach would give me various instructions according to the road conditions. I would also have different behaviors according to the external environment. I have strengthened my responses to multiple settings through long-term practice. Finally, I can drive a car independently.
Cognitivism
Cognitivism focuses more on the role of the mind in the learning process(Brian Fairbanks). Cognitivism prefers learners to think actively and absorb different information in the course. I think the most cognizant thing in my experience is the film course. The professor plays movies so that students can collect information and absorb the knowledge contained therein.
Constructivism
Constructivism believes that learners need and participate in real problems to learn different types of knowledge. After learners participate in the process, they will build a structure to absorb knowledge and guide them to experience. Volunteering in high school helped me learn from real life.

Hi Mengcheng, thank you for sharing! Behaviorism, cognitivism and constructivism are introduced in your blog. And explain these 3 ways with your personal experience, it is very helpful for my understanding. Behaviorism mentions that when a student repeats a behavior many times, it is reinforced. Practice makes perfect, with more practice, we will definitely gain something in our studies.

Hello Mengcheng, you did an amazing job in briefly introducing the core concepts of three learning theories and providing your own examples. Like I stated in my own blog, none of these learning theories could easily motivate students, thereby asking instructors for more time in designing teaching activities. Before we start working on the blueprint and final interactive learning resource, we may figure out which learning theory fits well with target students of our project. Sooner, based upon this specific theory we choose, we design the learning resource that both matches the learning theory and sparks students’ leaning motivation.
